Mrs. Jeanette's Kindergarten Class
at Woodville Elementary School
Dear Parents,
On Monday, August 18th, your child will be taking another big step in life- the first day of Kindergarten! I understand that your child may meet this day with excitement or apprehension (or both), but I assure you that we have a wonderful year planned ahead.
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jeanette Villa (Miss Jeanette) and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher. For the past 4 years I have taught Pre-K and Kindergarten at Woodville. I have 8 years of experience working with children in many grade levels and with a diverse group of students. We will also have Ms. Lisa McNew working with us this year as our teacher’s assistant.
"Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand” - Chinese proverb
In our classroom, your child will participate in whole group, small group and individual instruction in reading, writing, science and math. I also use independent literacy and math centers (workshop), as well as hands on activities on a daily basis.
Please read important information on some of the other pages and refer to the student handbook to clear up any questions about our school and classroom procedures. I am looking forward to a great school year!
